CrystalSolutions v8 Mac / Leopard Fix - new version now ...
Last post by admin - October 31, 2007, 04:10:06 AM
crystalsolutions fails to open in Leopard OS X10.5

new version now available - Latest News (5/11/07)crystalsolutions now works in Leopard OS X 10.5

please download latest version from http://www.crystalsolutions.org/MACV8demosubmit.html

If you wish to keep your existing records, export your existing records before installing the new version

1/ please make a copy of  crystalsolutions  as an emergency backup  first
open your existing crystalsolutions
(go to setup (orange gem top right) /choose the system tab , and click "perform backup now", saving the file to the desktop

2/ navigate to patients page 1  and choose export records from the top "File" menu

a save dialogue gives you options -call the file Patients
choose to save on the desktop if you can -, or to Folder of your choosing.
you can choose filemaker pro from the drop down types. click ok

3/ (you may then be presented with "can't find reg.usr" and a navigation box - with luck the  crystalsolutions folder in applications, where you will see the reg.usr file. Choose it and you will then see a
"specify field order for export dialogue"

4/ click export

this should ensure that your existing patient record details are now available for import into the new installation of crystalsolutions.

Accounts however are more problematic, as often a patient has more than one related payment. We suggest you print out the existing accounts you have made, and start afresh with a new accounting period when you start up the new crystalsolutions.

you can try though to export the Accounts however.......

5/ go to Accounts (green gem ) and choose export records from the top "File" menu

a save dialogue gives you options -call the file Accounts
choose to save on the desktop if you can -, or to Folder of your choosing.
you can choose filemaker pro from the drop down types. click ok

6/ (you may then be presented with "can't find reg.usr" and a navigation box - with luck the  crystalsolutions folder in applications, where you will see the reg.usr file. Choose it and you will then see a
"specify field order for export dialogue"

7/ click export

8/ IMPORT  Patient records

install and open the new version of crystalsolutions. and  navigate to patients page 1  and choose import records/ file from the top "File" menu. Navigate to the Patient file you saved earlier and click import.

9/ try to IMPORT Accounts records
go to Accounts (green gem ) and choose import records/ file from the top "File" menu.  Navigate to the Accounts you saved earlier and click import.

Check it carefully - the amounts dates and the related patient records may not sync in which case we would suggest you delete the records ONLY in the accounts page, and start a new accounting period.

(it is sometimes possible to fix this, email me for details if you want to try) Similiarly if you need to use the emergency backup file, email me for details of correctly choosing the correct tables and order of import)

CrystalSolutions v8 Win / re colour on xp

the default 'blue' in xp renders crystalsolutions submenus difficult to read. Go to Control panels in XP and under Display, choose Silver under Appearance.

CrystalSolutions v8 Win / colour doesn't seem right on w...
Last post by admin - July 12, 2007, 11:54:30 PM
i've had a chance to see CrystalSolutions v8 Win on a few more machines lately and i think the colour is wrong. any comments out there?

i shall be looking into this - i saw it looking very washed out on a PC with an LCD the other day but i wonder if they're set up with adequate video cards for some of the modern resolutions.

the PC we test on i know is substandard in video by virtue of its age, and the new LCD whose optimum resolution it can't master

it's lookin good on mac tho

will post more soon

CrystalSolutions v8 Win / Vista
Last post by stan - July 04, 2007, 12:20:05 AM
Installed the software smoothly but for the last section - wasn't actually given the option to run the program though it was given as an option. Only option was to close to a final installation with no program execution. Or so it appeared - asked to enter username and execution followed.

First indication of format/layout on a 20" widescreen is compact, but assume this is designed to the constraints of most practices running 15" Monitors so positive feedback on the basic layout. Colour wise leaves a little to be desired on the eyes - the dark cyan fields in key input areas are a little hard to work with on the eyes - light cyan good - would replace Dark Cyan with white etc. could just be me but you asked for feedback

Don't fully understand the softwares intended user but had a play in every field and couldn't force any errors, so programming looking A1. Looks like a nice, easy to use interface and wish you the best of luck. Vista wise - didn't try and reject it so compliments all round - rejects almost everything else lol

Hope this helps - You need to start taking advantage of Virtual Machine for bench Testing - have a copy if you need it.

CrystalSolutions v8 Win / CrystalSolutions WIN Demo V8 ...
Last post by admin - June 22, 2007, 07:33:43 AM
I have just uploaded the latest revision - *revision 1 (21/6/07) at 7. 40 pm UK time to correct anomalies in Vista & Help files .

to download the latest revision without having to fill in the form go to
http://www.crystalsolutions.org/windload2.html

If you are not running Vista then you should be OK with the old version, except for some problems with the Help files that we've just corrected.

I hope you can find your way into the program and that it can assist you.

I recommend you follow the Quickstart 2 mins which is available from within the program or via the Help files in your Crystalsolution folder. - if you find some are not functioning then, instead of downloading the latest revision, you can simply go online to http://www.crystalsolutions.org/csHelp/Help/index.html

and pick them out there and save/replace them to your Help folder, inside your  Crystalsolution folder. which is usually installed in your Program Files folder, on your C Drive

I hope this makes sense!

let us know how you get on
plusses and minuses

many thx
