this is an example of an information guide to services for children and young people with special needs for the Durham area, produced by the Children's Network (part of Durham County Council) put together with a large input from parents and young people  and it  can now be downloaded in PDF format from the Making Changes Together site (County Durham) they have it as a Link.. here

hopefully we can replace this link with a cumbria guide to services on our Front page...

for now here is the current cumbria county council link for aiming high http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/childrensservices/childrenandfamilies/familysupport/disabilities/aiminghigh/default.asp

and of course here on this site as we continue to include info ---check out the  Forum  and Search from the top Menu

Positive Parenting Guide from Cumbria CC attached below

Cumbria’s Positive Parenting Handbook

As part of Cumbria’s Parenting Strategy, the Positive Parenting Handbook provides parents and carers with a useful guide that will assist them in making informed decisions on many of the challenging issues that parents face today.

Cumbria Parent Partnership Service is a small discrete team which offers independent support, information and advice to parents/carers of children with special educational needs and other disabilities which have an impact on the way children access education. http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/childrensservices/childrenandfamilies/familysupport/parentinghandbook/default.asp
