'PLAYFUL IDEAS'

In December 2008 the Government launched its first ever national Play Strategy!

The Department for Children Families and Schools (DCSF) and the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) said that fun and exciting opportunities to play are at the heart of a happy healthy childhood and that developing better outdoor play opportunities are not only good for  children and families but  result in stronger and safer communities.

'PLAYFUL IDEAS'

Is aimed at everyone interested in developing exciting play spaces within local communities, including green spaces, schools and children's centres – from development workers to people involved in community/voluntary groups and organisations.

'PLAYFUL IDEAS'

Is a free event, with lunch and refreshments provided. If anyone needs childcare please contact us to see if we can help.

'PLAYFUL IDEAS'

Will focus on designing outdoor play spaces and consider the importance of children/young people taking risks when they play. It will also provide information on the national Play Strategy, funding for play and provide an opportunity to talk about local projects and ideas.

'PLAYFUL IDEAS'

Will only be able to accommodate 20 participants at each event – we will be restricting bookings to a maximum of 2 people from each organisation.
