Title: Disabled Swimming in Kendal
Post by: val on March 08, 2010, 07:35:34 PM
Just to let people know about this if they don't!

Every (most) Saturday morning 10.30-11.30am Kendal Leisure Centre have disabled swim.

We went along a couple of weeks ago and were very impressed.  Children get in free, we were directed to the First Aid Room to use the facilites there to get changed.  The water temperature was warmer than normal swimming temperature (not hydrotherapy level but comfortable).  The pool was very quiet as this hour is for disabled swim only.  There are also a few members of the local Lions group around (retired physios when we went) who were more than happy to provide an extra pair of hands if needed for example getting in and out and to take your child for  a while so you can have  a swim or spend some time with a sibling.

As I said, this is on most Saturdays so might be wise to phone to check it is on first.
