Why do people consider private tuition?

   SCUDA has been offering one to one tuition to dyslexic children and adults for many years with great success and people come for many reasons including the following:


  1. •They may have had an assessment recommending individual tuition tailored to their particular learning needs

  2. •They find working in a whole class situation difficult and can focus better one to one.

  3. •There are certain concepts and skills in need of reinforcement on a one to one basis

  4. •They may need specialist teaching for reading, writing, spelling or numeracy.


Specialist Teachers?

Specialist teachers are qualified professionals who have additional qualifications in the assessment and support of children and adults with specific learning difficulties

Scuda continue to have a small teaching base in Barrow-in-Furness. In addition   we hold a list of experienced specialist teachers with experience of working in schools, college or university settings and additional quantifications in dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.

These teachers offer private lessons according to their own arrangements. This may be in the Barrow Centre, in school, in their home or in your home


If you are interested in arranging private tuition for yourself or your child, please contact a tutor directly to see if they can help.

They will be happy to discuss their qualifications, experience, areas of expertise, when where they prefer to teach etc.

SCuDA makes no recommendations and does not regulate the hourly rates charged.
We ask that they have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
